Make Good Trouble With Us
Five years after his death, join us in honoring U.S. Congressman John Lewis’s legacy and heeding his call to "make good trouble."
On Thursday, July 17, we will gather at 11 a.m near the Highway 20 pedestrian overpass in Coupeville, then walk quietly over the overpass and on to the Island County Courthouse a few blocks away. The gathering is being organized by Indivisible Whidbey and the League of Women Voters of Whidbey Island, with help from other groups.
If you don't feel like walking, you can simply join the rally near the overpass.
John Lewis taught us that nonviolent direct action is a moral force, and that we must confront injustice wherever it lives — whether in the halls of power, in the courts, or on our own streets.
On July 17, we’re sending a clear message that in the United States, the power lies in the hands of the people. Together, we march in peace and act in power.
